Video -"Youtube is everywhere"

- Youtube is everywhere -
About video
This video was created with the intent of showing just how connected we are to Youtube as a whole. It is a constant presence in our day-to-day life, from music till entertainment and even in some cases to look at the news of all over the world. This is especially visible on the younger generation, the so-called millennials who grew up with access to the Internet for the majority of their lives. As such, we felt like it was important to show the attachment people have to this website, from watching their favorite content creator/Youtuber upload a video to a trendy artist upload his newest music video for everyone to watch. Youtube is relatively recent, it was only founded in 2005, however, its impact grew exponentially and at a quite fast rate, certainly faster than any other “traditional medium”, such as television. We decided to use Windows Movie Maker because we thought it would be easier to work with and the best way to transmit our message to the viewer. The message is simple: Youtube is everywhere. And things will not change anytime soon.

Interview
About Interview
We thought this interview to Diogo Miguel was a good idea since he is quite experienced and knowledgeable of this platform. It appears to be quite obvious just how important Youtube is for him, considering it is something he is used to being exposed to. We considered that asking someone who is a content creator on this website to be a useful way to show insight on the in’s and out’s of Youtube, perhaps even show us a new perspective on how they use this platform themselves. As Diogo Miguel says, Youtube is different from other social media websites like Spotify because it was one of the first few ways actual footage was able to be posted on the Internet. For him, Youtube is more than just a website, because it allows for so many different things, from animations to music, parodies, among other things. Because of this, we believe that it was essential to show just how universal this web page actually is.
